Special Issues Guideline

What is a Special Issue?

A Special Issue is a collection of articles focused on a specific, timely topic or emerging area of research within the scope of a journal. It is typically led by one or more Guest Editors with recognized expertise in the field.

Special Issues offer a unique opportunity to:

  • Highlight new developments or challenges in a focused area
  • Promote collaboration among scholars
  • Increase the visibility and citation impact of research

Who Can Propose a Special Issue?

We welcome proposals from:

  • Senior researchers or faculty members
  • Research groups or project consortia
  • Editorial Board Members
  • Conference organizers

Guest Editors must have proven expertise and publication history in the topic of interest.


How to Propose a Special Issue

To submit a proposal, please provide the following:

  1. Title of the Special Issue
  2. Brief description (150–300 words) of the topic, its relevance, and scope
  3. List of suggested topics or sub-themes
  4. Proposed timeline for submission and publication
  5. Short bios of the Guest Editor(s), including affiliations and recent publications
  6. Target audience and possible contributors (optional)

Responsibilities of Guest Editors

Guest Editors are responsible for:

  • Defining the scope and topics of the Special Issue
  • Promoting the call for papers within their networks
  • Overseeing the peer review process with the support of the journal’s editorial office
  • Making editorial recommendations based on reviewer feedback
  • Ensuring academic quality, diversity, and originality of accepted articles

Our in-house editorial team will assist with all technical and publishing tasks.


Article Types and Peer Review

Special Issues may include:

  • Original research articles
  • Review papers
  • Short communications
  • Case studies (where applicable)

All submissions undergo the same rigorous peer review and editorial standards as regular articles.


Open Access and Publication Fees

All articles in Special Issues are published Open Access, ensuring global visibility.
Standard Article Processing Charges (APCs) apply unless waived or subsidized through sponsorship, institutional support, or funding bodies.


Important Notes

  • Articles must comply with the journal’s ethics and submission policies.
  • Special Issues should aim for at least 6–10 high-quality articles.
  • The Guest Editor(s) may contribute no more than one article as the corresponding author.

Promotion and Indexing

Published Special Issues are promoted via:

  • Email campaigns to relevant researchers
  • Social media announcements
  • Indexing and cross-linking with global databases

This ensures maximum visibility and impact for all contributing authors.
