Peer Review Process
At ACAD-WISE, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and scientific quality. To ensure this, all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review process before publication.
Overview of the Peer Review Process
- Upon submission, the editorial office performs an initial screening to verify:
- Manuscript format and completeness
- Scope relevance
- Compliance with ethical standards and plagiarism policy
- The Editor-in-Chief or Handling Editor evaluates the manuscript's suitability and may desk-reject submissions that:
- Do not meet the journal’s standards
- Lack originality or significance
- Show major ethical concerns
- Qualified independent reviewers (usually two or more) are invited based on:
- Subject expertise
- Absence of conflict of interest
- Past reviewing experience
- Double-blind review (both authors and reviewers are anonymous)
- Reviewers evaluate:
- Scientific soundness
- Originality and significance
- Clarity and structure
- Methodology and data integrity
- References and ethical compliance
- Reviewers evaluate:
- Based on reviewer comments, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
- Authors receive detailed feedback and, if revisions are required, are given time to resubmit.
- Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
- The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor, based on the reviewers’ feedback and the revised version.
- Accepted articles proceed to copyediting, typesetting, and final approval by the authors before publication.
- Initial editorial decision: within 7–10 days
- Average review time: 3–6 weeks
- Total publication time: varies by journal, typically 4–8 weeks from submission
We value the critical role reviewers play. All reviewers are expected to:
- Provide constructive, unbiased, and timely evaluations
- Maintain confidentiality
- Declare any conflicts of interest
Reviewers receive acknowledgment and may request certificates of review upon completion.
Our peer review process adheres to the guidelines of:
- COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
- ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors)
We do not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical practices in any form.
